Eligibility Criteria

D.Pharm

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Exam (+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as optional Subjects and equiva-lent thereto are eligible to apply.

B.Pharm

Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes for admission to the B.Pharmacy course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 40% marks. Not less than 45% ag-gregate marks in the above subjects is mandatory at the qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study i.e.10+2 pattern of education and for Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes not less than 40% aggregate marks.

Pharm.D

Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination in the Science stream with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology are eligible for admission to the Pharm.D programme. Candidates who have passed the D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 are also eligible. Admission shall be subject to the rules and regulations of the Pharmacy Council of India and the competent admission authority. Candidates who have obtained their B.Pharm degree from a University other than The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University shall produce an Eligibility Certificate issued by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University at the time of admission. The candidate shall have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the B.Pharm course for OC, BC, BCM, MBC/DNC categories and 50% aggregate marks for SC, SCA and ST categories, subject to the prevailing admission regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu and The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

For calculation of aggregate marks, the marks obtained in all semesters of the B.Pharm course shall be taken together. In the case of candidates who have cleared any failed subjects in subsequent attempts, the pass marks obtained in the subsequent attempt(s) shall be considered for calculation. The number of attempts shall not be considered for calculating the aggregate percentage. Candidates shall also satisfy the eligibility, approval and registration requirements prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India, Government of Tamil Nadu and The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, as applicable from time to time. Admission shall be made on the basis of the prevailing rules of the competent admission authority, merit, reservation policy and other statutory requirements.
